Proofreading
For this important step, a native-speaking linguist reviews the translated version of the final document, without reference to the source document. A qualified proofreader is an expert in the technical aspects of their native language, as well as the subject matter in question. The proofreader reads the translation to verify that the message is clear and the language flows naturally, while also checking for typographical or grammatical errors that may have been introduced during the conversion from word-processing to final layout. The overall goal is to have the translated document read and look as though it were created in the target language for the target audience.
